5 Unique Buildings: Architecture at it's Strangest

I stumbled upon a post called "50 Most Strange and Unusual Buildings Around the World" on a site called 2expertsdesign.com

These 5 are quite interesting, probably would make you sick if you were drunk or give you a seizure if you were epileptic...

Krzywy Dom

Aqua Building, East View
Dancing House
Don Pastawiony na glowie (whatever the heck that means!)

Upside Down Building, City Hall, Tempe AZ
I have to wonder... were they designed this way or do some contractors have some major explaining to do?  What would Mike Holmes have to say about this?

Amazing and Unique 3D Sidewalk Chalk Art

Chalk art is unbelievable.

I admire the dedication of these artists, spending hours to create something that is stunning, only to have it washed away at the next rainfall.

Still, a picture lasts forever, and these are certainly worth sharing.  Visit the originating website for more info about the artists and the Sarasota Chalk Festival.

My favourites are the "Trompe L'Oeil" ones.  Or "fools the eye" if you didn't get that. ;)

Sharpie Art

A little shameless plug of my own artwork...

This is a series of dancers I did with Sharpies.  I love drawing with Sharpies, they rock.

Amazing Body Art: Face Painting To The Next Level

I've always loved body art, and have been wanting to try my hand at it for a while.

I've been face painting for 5 years, I think it's high time I try body painting, especially after seeing these!

I found these beautiful pictures here.

Love how she almost completely disappears into the background.

Visit the website for more unique body art...

Mosaic Art - With Rubik's Cubes?!

Always amused by unconventional art, I was very pleased by this artist's vision.

4442 Rubik's cubes were used to create this mosaic of Martin Luther King by multi-medium artist Pete Fectau.  (visit his website to read more about the process and the artist)

It weighs a thousand pounds.  Yes, 1000.

This must be one mighty sturdy wall...

Nestrests: Taking Hammocks To A New Level

Amazing Art Finds celebrates beauty in design today:

These beautiful hanging baskets are called NESTRESTS, designed by Paris' Daniel Pouzet and Fred Frety. These modern hammocks seem quite comfortable, I'd love to spend a lazy afternoon reading in one...

Just one question though:  How did he manage not to get wet in this first one? ;)

Burst My Bubble, Why Don't You?

The camera can capture a moment the naked eye could never see.

Freeze time for a split second and reveal details otherwise missed.

An expert photographer can capture moments no one has ever seen before:

Etch a Sketch Art

I came across Etch a Sketch art the other day while "stumbling".

I was thoroughly impressed with what I found!  Crazy what some people are capable of creating!!!  Personally, I could barely draw a basic square house with triangle roof.  Good thing I had other talents...

George Vlosich III created this Etch a Sketch drawing masterpiece:

Found on the Cynical Smirk The Beatles! (amazing job)

Do a Google image search if you're hot for more, there are hundreds.

When I say that art is in everything and every one, I mean it ;)

Welcome to Amazing Art Finds!

Finding me was half the battle, and now that you're here, we can explore the art world together.

Art is all around us and is in many forms.  Some are masters of the culinary arts, others create masterpieces from wood.  Some paint, some sculpt, some write.

No matter what the medium though, at the base, we are all artists, and are all seeking to create beauty from the chaos that is our environment.

Stay tuned as I scour the web for amazing art finds to share and revel in...

Watercolors by Marion Bolognesi

I stumbled upon this wonderful watercolour artist, Marion Bolognesi the other day.

I absolutely love her work, it is so interesting.  Not to mention beautiful!  Who knows what her original intent was, but when I look at both, I see a mixture of pain and beauty.  For some reason, I can relate ;)

Well worth sharing!

I received a watercolour paint set for my birthday... I've never experimented with this medium before... perhaps it's time I try?

Visit Marion Bolognesi's website to find out more about her and her work.
